The ST-40S is a short-bed version of our large-frame ST-40 lathe, providing the same shop-proven performance and reliability, with shorter Z-axis travel and a smaller footprint. The available rear spindle nose makes the machine ideal for pipe threading and rethreading, as well as end work on long shafts, where both ends need to be supported.
Haas short-bed, large-frame turning centers provide the performance and swing capacity to turn large-diameter parts, while taking up less floor space than their standard counterparts.

Need to machine some tapered oilfield threads on some pipe? Or drill a 4″ hole in some stainless or alloy steel? No problem, the ST-40 has the power and rigidity to tackle some serious parts. This demo features OD turning with a 0.6″ DOC at 770 SFM and 0.0216″/rev in 4140 alloy steel.
